This realization is not a new one. Physicists have long known that every electron in nature changes energy states by taking a non-linear “path” between the electron orbitals. Said another way, electrons change their energy state by disappearing from three dimensional existence and then instantaneously reappearing at a different point in space with a new energy level. This effect is known as Quantum Tunneling and it is actaully the basis of modern semiconductive electronic components such as diodes and transistors.
We see that Singularics’ own research into non-linear phenomenon is starting to point towards a potentially significant moment in the history of technology. It is a moment where humanity is taking its first steps in producing a new breed of devices which have profoundly interesting, useful and novel relationships to concepts like distance, impedance and time.
From the routine of our daily lives, perhaps it is easy to loose sight of the fact that our universe is an incredible mystery and that much remains yet unknown to us, but the pace of scientific progress is now accelerating exponentially. As a species we are beginning to draw connections never before realized and we must keep our sense of possibility honed if we are to proceed to the next step of technological advancement. At Singularics, we have taken some small but important pioneering steps in this new direction and we whole-heartedly welcome those with vision to join us.
